Cat Skiing and Snow Boarding
Imagine limitless, untracked champagne powder.
Imagine you can get there without a helicopter.
That is what cat skiing and riding is all about. Located 45 minutes from Smithers within the Babine Range of the Skeena Mountains, Adventure Camp Tourism partners with Skeena Cat Skiing to offer access to 32,000 acres of terrain known for big dumps of dry powder.
Tours range from day trips to all-inclusive three to five day adventures. All tours include avalanche equipment and experienced mountain guides. Let the locals show you what we do on OUR days off.
You won’t regret it!
Heli Skiing and Snow Boarding
Smithers is the gateway for the largest heliskiing area in North America. Offering untouched powder in wildest terrain imaginable, heliskiing in Northern BC is what dreams are made of. The 9,525 square kilometres of terrain sprawls across 4 mountain ranges adjacent to 7 BC Provincial Parks with high alpine bowls, supreme glacier runs and epic tree glades.
Adventure Camp partners with Skeena Heliskiing to offer 3 to 7 day tours, each offering huge guaranteed vertical feet (how does 28,000 m sound?), and all meals included. No matter your skill level or budget, Adventure Camp
Tourism will find the right experience for your group.
The experience of a lifetime is waiting for you, all you need to to do is take it!
Hudson Bay Mountain Resort
Hudson Bay Mountain is our local ski area. Only 23km from downtown Smithers, Hudson Bay Mountain is known for consistently excellent powder and friendly locals. Named as one of North America’s best secret ski towns by National Geographic (read the article Best Secret Ski Towns of North America), you’ll always find fresh tracks and rarely see a line up. Let Adventure Camp take you to Hudson Bay Mountain Resort.
Powder King Mountain Resort
Once you get to Powder King, it is easy to feel like the rest of the world has ceased to exist. A 560km journey from Smithers is well worth the time to sample Powder King’s big dumps of light fluffy snow. With 5,500 acres of in-bound terrain and only 27 marked runs, there are glades all day and friendly locals at the on-mountain hostel all night. Let Adventure Camp show you Powder King Mountain Resort.
Shames Mountain Ski Area
Located in Terrace, 200km west of Smithers, Shames Mountain boasts one of the deepest consistent snow packs in North America, receiving 475 inches per year. The ski area has 28 cut runs and plenty of natural glades, but the true magic is in the 7,800 acres of easily accessed backcountry. No trip to North West British Columbia with Adventure Camp is complete without getting some turns in at Ski-Shames.
